Adolf Hitler makes the SS and SA official auxiliary police in order to combat violence from leftist radicals. Previously the SS and SA simply worked closely with the state police on an unofficial basis, but now they have official police powers despite the lack of any training, education, or accountability.
The continuing presence of the SS and the SA in police matters, however, ensures that laws are enforced with the Nazis' authoritarian and racial agenda firmly in mind. It thus impossible or nearly impossible for the regular police to enforce even neutral laws in a fair, neutral manner. Everything is done through the lens of Nazi ideology.
