Amaury VI de Montfort, leader of the Crusade against the Cathars, flees Carcassonne. The son of Raymond-Roger de Trencaval returns from exile and reclaims the area. Amaury VI de Montfort had received control of the County of Toulouse from his father, Simon de Montfort, who in turn had taken the territory away from Raymond VI of Toulouse in the crusade against the Cathars.
