Telemachus is a Christian Saint who, according to legend, is killed in a Roman stadium on this date. The reasons for his death are uncertain. The most popular legend is that he attempts to stop the gladiatorial fights and in response the fans stone him to death.

This is the last known date for gladiator fights in Rome. Another legend is that Telemachus attempts to evangelize the crowd during gladiator fights and the city prefect orders the gladiators to kill him.
