The Dearborn Independent begins publishing under new ownership: Henry Ford. The Dearborn Independent will become infamous for publishing a series of articles on the "Jewish Problem" and portions of the The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
When Henry Ford purchases the newspaper it's circulation is only around 72,000; in 1922, after its 91-week series of anti-Semitic articles, circulation is around 300,000. It is believed that the newspaper is tapping into feelings of fear, suspicion, and prejudice of Jews in America.
