Achille Ratti, the future Pope Pius XI, is appointed by Pope Benedict XV to be Papal Nuncio to Poland. Benedict XV expects Ratti to improve the condition for Jews in Poland, but he does nothing.

In fact, his reports back to the Vatican contain repeated warnings about the Jews themselves.
