Hussam Abdo, a 14-year-old Palestinian boy, fails in his mission as a suicide bomber when his bomb-vest doesn't detonate at an Israeli checkpoint outside Nablus. An armed wing of Fatah takes responsibility for paying the child $23 and promising him sex with virgins in heaven as his reward.

Apparently, Hussam Abdo has also been bullied severely at school and now sees this as a means for escaping his torment for something better. It seems that people at Hamas deliberately exploited this issue as well.
