Nazi officials in Vienna announce that over the next two weeks there will be five transports of at least 1,000 Jews each that will travel "to the east." The first is scheduled to leave on October 20, and the primary destination will be the ghetto of Lublin (Majdanek).

Leaders of the Jewish community are ordered to provide lists of Jews capable of work.
